For the launch of MDRNST, it was imperative that our creative team chose just the right model to be the face of our Spring 2021 underwear line.
After going through about 7 different agencies and contacting numerous amounts of high profile influencers, our creative director and our Photographer Mitchell Phun came forward with prolific model Francisco Lachowski. There was some skepticism on weather he was the correct fit, but after really diving into each of our final decisions, it was clear that Lachowski fit the bill of the Modernist Man.
Lachowski began modeling after he won the Ford Men's Supermodel of the World contest in São Paulo in 2008, for which he was awarded a contract with Ford Models. He has since walked for many notable fashion brands including Dior Homme, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, DSquared², Gucci, Roberto Cavalli, Thierry Mugler, Armani, and Balmain. He has appeared in campaigns for DKNY, Lacoste, Armani Exchange, Etro, Dior, DSquared², Mavi Jeans, Balmain, and Tommy Hilfiger. He has appeared on the covers of several magazines, including Vanity Teen, Homme Essential, Carbon Copy, Made in Brazil, Chaos, and L'Officiel Hommes. In addition, he has appeared in editorials for GQ, Vogue, and FHM.
Lachowski was awarded "Model of the Year: Men (Reader's Choice)" by models.com in 2016. He appeared in Kanye West's music video "Wolves" that same year. In 2018, he was given the "International Male Model" award at GQ Portugal's Men of the Year Awards. He has been the face of the JOOP! Homme Absolute fragrance since 2019.
As of June 2020, Lachowski is represented by The Society Management in New York.
Lachowski met model Jessiann Gravel Beland in 2010, and the two were married in 2013.They have two sons together: Milo (born 2013) and Laslo (born 2016).
The Modernist Man is a gentlemen of or associated with Modernism. Especially in the arts. Modernism translates to modern character or quality of thought, expression, or technique. Modernism was essentially based on a utopian vision of human life and society and a belief in progress, or moving forward. With that said Lachowski envelopes what it means to be an expressive and modern man. We are confident that having him as the face of our brand launch has brought to life this brands ideologies.
